Hill of a Shoulder

Hill of a Shoulder is a monumental sculpture born from the imprint of a real body, enlarged until it becomes a landscape. Created for the artist’s solo exhibition À Bras le Corps (Head-On) at the Musée Régional d’Art Contemporain de Sérignan, and part of the Body-Scapes series, the work transforms anatomy into topography: a broad, continuous form—both abstract and familiar—evoking a gentle relief, a hill to be traversed and inhabited by the gaze and the body. Its whiteness and flowing lines first invite the eye to wander, before opening—for those who choose to engage more closely—an inner space of bodily awareness and sensory perception. Conceived from a 3D scan of a human shoulder and produced using techniques akin to naval engineering, the sculpture offers a calm aesthetic experience, at the threshold between body and landscape, where perception unfolds slowly, attentively, embodied.
Vallon d’une Épaule

Colline d’une Épaule est une sculpture monumentale née de l’empreinte d’un corps réel, agrandie jusqu’à devenir paysage. Créée à l’occasion de mon exposition personnelle À Bras le Corps au Musée Régional d’Art Contemporain de Sérignan, et issue de la série Paysages-Corps, l’œuvre transforme l’anatomie en topographie : une forme ample et continue, à la fois abstraite et familière, qui évoque un relief doux, une colline à parcourir, à habiter du regard et du corps. Sa blancheur et ses lignes fluides invitent d’abord l’œil à circuler, avant d’ouvrir — pour qui le souhaite — un espace d’écoute corporelle et de perception sensorielle. Conçue à partir d’un scan 3D de l’épaule humaine et réalisée selon des techniques proches de l’ingénierie navale, la sculpture propose une expérience esthétique paisible, à la frontière du corps et du paysage, où la perception se fait lente, attentive, incarnée.
